With preparations for the 2012 Summer Program moving into their finals stages, we would like to offer a brief update regarding our planned excursion to Rome for the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul. We will be arriving in Rome on Thursday, June 28, around 10:30.
Papal Mass - The Holy Father will offer Mass for the Feast of Ss. Peter and Paul on Friday, June 29, at 9:00, in the Vatican Basilica, with the Imposition of the Pallium on Metropolitan Archbishops. We have received confirmation of our reservations, so tickets for the whole group will be waiting for us at the bronze doors of the Vatican.
Scavi Tour - Unfortunately, there are no openings left for the tour of the necropolis beneath St. Peter's Basilica, which we hoped to include in our itinerary. If another group cancels, however, we are on the list.
Vatican Museum & Sistine Chapel - We will not be organizing this as a group tour, but individuals who would like to make their own arrangements for a visit during our brief stay in Rome are encouraged to consider purchasing tickets in advance at the Online Ticket Office. There is an extra fee of 4 euro for doing so, but this will allow you to bypass the line at the entrance, which can be very, very long during the Summer months especially.
